During a private demonstration at Rockstar North, TGG saw cars refueling and receiving repairs at gas stations, alongside electric vehicles that could recharge. PC Gamer also reported those preview details and Rob Nelson’s comments during the demo. PC Gamer
TGG estimated that the refueling sequence it saw lasted roughly 10 seconds.
That figure measures one demonstrated sequence. Rockstar has not published driving range, fuel prices or the exact behavior when a vehicle reaches zero.

How refueling works in GTA 6
TGG’s creator preview includes a dedicated Fuel & EV Charging section.
During the demonstration, a station could provide several vehicle services:
arrive → choose a service → refuel, repair or charge an EV → get back on the road
Rockstar has not detailed the final controls, partial refueling or what options remain available while police are searching for you.
What the 10-second refuel actually tells us
TGG estimated roughly ten seconds for the sequence shown during the preview.

How long does a tank last?
Rockstar has not published fuel range or consumption figures.
That leaves several variables open:
- distance on a full tank;
- differences between vehicle classes;
- higher consumption during aggressive driving;

Those numbers will decide how often the player actually needs a gas station.

That gives gas stations at least three possible vehicle services:

We still need figures for:

- charging time;
- price;
- charger availability;
- behavior at 0%.
The roughly ten-second refueling estimate does not establish an EV charging time.
What happens when fuel reaches zero?
Rockstar has not explained it publicly.
An engine eventually stopping is a reasonable possibility, but it remains an inference until the rule is shown or documented.
We do not know whether GTA 6 uses:
- reserve fuel;
- gradual power loss;
- immediate shutdown;
- roadside assistance;
- portable fuel;
