RydeMe is the clearest fast-travel system
RydeMe appears on the GTA 6 phone.
Game Informer describes the app as a way to reach destinations quickly.
IGN also presents it as a taxi or ride-hailing service used for fast travel.
The basic sequence is straightforward:
open phone → request ride → driver arrives → travel
Rockstar has not published complete fare, coverage or availability rules.
You can stay in the car during the journey
Preview coverage describes RydeMe as more than a loading screen.
During some trips you can remain inside the vehicle.
Reported options include:
- listening to the radio;
- using your phone;
- browsing social media;
- talking during the journey.
Fast travel doesn’t always mean disappearing from the journey.
You can stay in the car, listen to the radio, use your phone, browse social media or talk while Leonida keeps moving outside.
Rockstar has not yet published a complete control guide explaining how skipping works across every ride.
TGG describes the option to stay for a RydeMe journey or skip it after attending the Rockstar North demonstration. That detail comes from his account; it does not establish identical behavior across all transport services.
Can RydeMe take you anywhere?
That remains unclear.
Rockstar has not explained whether the service accepts:
- any waypoint;
- roads only;
- preset destinations;
- businesses;
- safehouses;
- stations.
Coverage may also differ outside Vice City.
Mount Kalaga, Grassrivers and remote roads could have different restrictions.
Universal coverage has not been confirmed.
GTA 6 has buses
Previews describe a bus network with stops around Leonida.
Several reports from the demonstrations connect buses with faster travel across the map. TGG describes stops marked on the minimap, NPCs waiting and the option to remain on the bus or skip the journey.
Status: Unconfirmed. TGG describes the service after the Rockstar North demonstration; Rockstar has not published its complete rules.
Rockstar has not published:
- routes;
- fares;
- frequency;
- number of stops;
- coverage;
- whether every bus route supports skipping.
Trains run through Leonida
Rockstar has shown rail infrastructure and trains in the world.
Preview coverage also describes usable passenger rail.
Some reports use the name Am Loco for a passenger service.
Before launch, two claims should stay separate:
usable trains → Unconfirmed, described by TGG after visiting Rockstar North.
instant journey skipping on every train → Unconfirmed; the rules are not fully documented.
Some rail services may function primarily as physical transportation.
Are taxis back?
Previews include taxis among GTA 6’s transport options.
That brings back a familiar GTA solution: let somebody else drive.
RydeMe modernizes the same basic need by putting it on the phone.
Rockstar has not explained whether conventional taxis and RydeMe share fares, destinations or other rules.
Trams have also been reported
Some preview coverage mentions trams or urban rail transport.
Rockstar has not published a dedicated explanation yet.
Current status:
TRAMS → Unconfirmed, mentioned in coverage of the demonstrations.
Routes, stations and journey-skipping rules remain unknown.
Scooter Bros delivers your personal vehicle
Scooter Bros solves a different problem.
Instead of transporting the player, it brings one of your personal vehicles to your location. Famitsu
That connects directly with:
- vehicle registration;
- garages;
- personal vehicles.
Your registered car is stored elsewhere.
Request the service.
The car comes back to you.
That makes keeping and customizing cars much more useful across a large map.
RydeMe and Scooter Bros have different jobs
| Service | Function |
|---|---|
| RydeMe | Transports the player |
| Scooter Bros | Delivers a personal vehicle |
| WAiNK | Analyzes vehicles |
RydeMe moves you. Scooter Bros moves your car.
All three apps sit inside GTA 6’s mobility systems while solving different problems.
Driving still matters
Fast travel does not replace manual travel.
GTA 6 includes:
- cars;
- motorcycles;
- boats;
- jet skis;
- airboats;
- kayaks;
- planes;
- helicopters;
- public transport.
Exploration still matters because the main story will not necessarily take players through every part of Leonida.
Leonida makes transport more important
Rockstar has not published an official km² figure.
TGG attributes a scale of roughly twice GTA V’s map to Rob Nelson, without a published measurement method that could turn it into an official km² figure.
Vice City is only one part of the state.
Other major regions include:
- Leonida Keys;
- Grassrivers;
- Port Gellhorn;
- Ambrosia;
- Mount Kalaga.
Transport options prevent every cross-state journey from becoming a long manual drive.
Is fast travel available immediately?
The complete rule is unknown.
The story begins in the Leonida Keys and later moves across the state.
Rockstar has not explained whether transport services:
- work immediately;
- unlock through missions;
- depend on region;
- require destinations to be discovered first.
There is no reason to copy GTA V or RDR2’s exact rules without evidence.
How much does fast travel cost?
No fares have been published.
We do not know prices for:
- RydeMe;
- buses;
- trains;
- taxis;
- Scooter Bros.
Some options could even be free.
Because money matters to GTA 6’s campaign progression, travel costs could affect which services players use most.
Can you drive during a RydeMe trip?
The service is presented as transportation with a driver.
Rockstar has not announced a system for taking over the driver’s vehicle while continuing the same service.
GTA’s general vehicle systems still let you drive on your own, but the specific rules around a RydeMe driver have not been documented.
Can you talk to the RydeMe driver?
Preview reporting describes conversations during rides.
Game Informer also discusses other passengers in some trips.
That lets travel create small pieces of world-building instead of becoming dead time.
We do not yet know how much dialogue exists or how it varies by driver, region or protagonist.
Is the train a fast-travel system?
Usable rail is supported by preview reporting.
The unresolved part is journey skipping.
Current safest wording:
usable train → Unconfirmed; use is described in accounts of the demonstrations.
instant fast travel on every train → Unconfirmed; complete rules have not been published.
Is there a Vice City metro?
Rockstar has shown urban and regional rail infrastructure.
It has not published a complete “Vice City Metro” system with:
- named lines;
- station list;
- route map;
- schedules.
Trains being present does not fill in those details.
